The biodynamic farm at Camphill Village Minnesota is located in the glacial moraine of central Minnesota.
You will find that Approximately of our 125 acres is managed for rotational grazing for the beef cattle, 70 acres is in permanent pasture, and 10 acres is restored native tall-grass prairie.
We steward the land biodynamically to foster the relationship between humanity and nature.
The farm provides meaningful work for the people in our community. We strive to be self-sufficient within the farm organism and help the community to further itself in this endeavor.
The farm and gardens at CVM produce nearly 70% of the food we consume throughout the year. In addition to organic produce, we raise chickens, sheep, and grass-fed beef cattle. When supply allows, we sell our beef at competitive prices. We are currently accepting orders for our grass-fed beef, to be fulfilled in Spring 2026.

Animal husbandry is the branch of animal agriculture that manages the day-to-day care, raising and selective breeding of livestock for milk, meat, & other products.
in biodynamic farming, Animal husbandry plays a key role, especially cattle because they provide the precious manure for increasing the fertility of the soil
In biodynamic farming, animals are part of the farm organism and their needs and wellbeing is respected and looked after in every way. Our Goal is to care for our animals according to their needs. we do this by creating conditions that allow our animals to behave in a way that is natural for them.
All of our cattle are born & raised right on the farm. They are not marred or harmed in any way, & they are not treated with hormones or antibiotics. the cows are 100% grassfed & are rotated for grazing throughout the growing season, while provided shelter in the winter months.
The transportation & experience of a slaughterhouse can greatly increase the stress of an animal so We are so very thankful that we are able to utilize a local butcher that comes directly to the farm. This reduces the stress on the animal & provides a more dignified end of life for the animal.
