Let’s Volunteer

Oftentimes when we hear the word volunteer we think we are headed to a food pantry, going to help fill sandbags, go on a mission trip, or maybe volunteer at a community or church event. Whatever it is, it is an opportunity for us to serve those around us… When we volunteer, it a time we give of ourselves, our time, and our money, and our personal gifts…

AND… most of us, expect that to be without any form of return, other than the rewarding joy the experience of serving brings us.

Dominics Direction

I’d like you to meet Dominic, one of our live-in volunteers.

Dominic is in his early 20s & joined us here at Camphill back in December 2022. He had been living quite the nomadic life ever since he had turned 18 & during that season he gained experience through farm apprenticeships at both vegetable & flower farms.

TAKING A GAP YEAR

In today’s world, a gap year is when someone takes a semester or a year off for experiential learning AND to take a break from academics.  This can often be after high school prior to career or post-secondary education. However this is also very commonly done during or after the college years. My hope or goal is to help you see how taking a well planned gap year may increase your practical, professional, and personal awareness.

NATURE & ECOLOGY BLOG

CVM is an amazingly diverse landscape. The ponds, rivers, wetlands, forests, fields and prairies of Camphill Village Minnesota help to shape us into who we are as a community, connected to and grounded in nature. This section of our website is dedicated to the exploration of this important aspect of place. Many Thanks to Ann Luloff her contributions and writeups. Ann is a neighbor and friend of the community who is an artist and master naturalist who enjoys exploring the diversity of nature that our local area provides.
